These two lamps are playful and biomimetic explorations of laser-cut joinery. The form is created from a simple laser-cut rib repeated and finished with paper. The lit object exposes the paper texture and the tapering/bulging forms. Unlit the
object is humble: made from paper and ply.
The cutting and assembly of these lamps is a flat-pack technique, assembled with wood glue and careful application of paper. The simple fabrication enables me to iterate the project, exploring form, scale, texture, color, and how these simple changes shift the function.
